We enjoyed a wonderful visit with the folks at the retirement home St. Luke’s church today and we’re delighted that one of the ladies who is 91 was back for her first time since she broke her leg.
Several of the people told their life stories and it was good to see familiar faces and new friends. We sang and prayed together.
Retreat

16 people gathered for a retreat on Tuesday Jan. 2 – Wednesday Jan. 3
We ranged in age from 6 to 70’s. The scripture basis for the retreat was the story of the wise and foolish bridesmaids in Matthew 25:1-13. We had several intense times of study and sharing. It was great to hear how people wanted to be ready for God to come into their lives and were daily preparing for His coming. We considered what spiritual gifts we have and those we would like to cultivate and grow. We also enjoyed a wonderful marinated chicken dinner grilled outside our cabin by Pastor Nadya ‘s husband Stas. Several of the women had brought food and we really had a feast.
We walked in the snow and looked at the stars. Our evening prayer service…
Camping in Russia
January 2, 2018
Today the group was able to go to a Russian Mall to do a little shopping, then they were off to a overnight camp with members from the church. Without wifi and a busy schedule we have not heard much more about their trip today other than they are having fun. Hopefully we will get a full report and post it soon.
New Day
January 1, 2018
Today started out by with new year fireworks at midnight all over town. After arriving at our hosts home and sleeping late, we all are having separate experiences today with our hosts family and their friends. It is a good day to rest and reflect on the past and the year ahead.
