Tonight the Chance to Change Foundation held their annual Celebration of Recovery event. A Chance to Change is an organization committed to providing hope and support for those who are suffering from addiction. It offers programs for those afflicted or their family members.

Tonight Marsh Pitman is being honored for choosing to live a life transformed. Newsok.com has a great article about Marsh and A Chance to Change; it says that in 1988 Marsh was struggling with depression – the result of growing up in a family where several were alcoholics. Marsh reached out to A Chance to Change and became connected with Al-Anon, an organization that helps family members of those struggling with alcoholism.

Marsh is a wonderful example of someone who was courageous enough to not allow the stigma of family problems prevent him from living a life that God desired for him. Marsh is an incredible husband/father/grandfather, leader in his faith and in his community.

I want to urge you or anyone you know who struggles with addiction of any kind – please know you are not alone.

There is help.
There is hope.

A Chance to Change is a great resource. St. Luke’s also has Faith Partners – a ministry specifically designed to help people get connected with the support they need and to realize that we stand with them.

If you are struggling, please know that you are loved and your life is worth more than you could ever know.

There is help.
There is hope.
