Regardless of the grey skies the Unity SS class has good attendance. We had Ray McConnell, Sherri Misleh and Jim Litton visiting with us.
Opening business, Rev. Glenn Millard reported on the need for food at Skyline. The class donated $110.00 to Skyline for food. President Susan Hollingsworth read a thank you note from Amy Givens for our donation to the youth.
We welcomed Rev. Dave Poteet as our teacher for this month. His subject was “Second Chances.” He lifted up the story of the Samaritan woman meeting at the well from John 4. Even though she was a Samaritan who were disliked by the Jewish people – she was also a woman who had several husbands and was not married to the man she was living with – but this was the woman Jesus chose to give his message to so that she could share it with the Samaritans of the village. We could call her the first Samaritan evangelist. John 4:26 “Then Jesus told her, ‘I am the Messiah.'” Thank you Rev. Poteet for an excellent message.
Everyone have a blessed week and share God’s love and bring hope to the world.
