Bible Point: God gives us gifts to serve him.

Key Verse: Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. – 1 Peter 4:10

Just as God gave Samson the unique gift of great strength, God gives each of us gifts as well. We also learned that God gives us these different gifts so that we can serve others and him (Judges 15:9-16; 16:4-30). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea.

1. Talk about a gift you believe God has given you, such as the ability to draw or a heart that recognizes when others are hurting. Share how you’ve used that gift in the past or how you would like to use that gift in the future.

2. Then share one unique gift you see in each of your children. Encourage your children to

3. After you’ve had time to talk, set aside a time when family members can use their God-given gifts in fun ways. Family members could bake a cake from scratch, write a poem, or sing a song. Make sure to show appreciation for each family member and his or her God-given gifts.

PRAYER

Lord, thank You for giving each of us unique gifts so we can serve You and help others around us. Please help us be more aware of those gifts, and give us opportunities to use our gifts for You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
