“…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

Lauran Siler was in her seat, waiting on the plane to take off. She was looking at her social media when she came across the photo of Annie. Annie is a black Labrador retriever who had been dropped off at a shelter in Dallas, Texas. Lauran was about to fly home to Dallas, and she knew that she needed to get home and adopt Annie. When she landed in Dallas, she reached out to her roommate to make sure it would be OK to bring home a dog. Her roommate agreed and Lauran went to retrieve the retriever.

Annie was dropped off at the shelter by her previous family. The only information they left was that Annie was no longer eating and no longer walking. They also said that Annie was 19 years old. (WOW)

Lauran and her roommate Lisa immediately connected with Annie. They welcomed the lab into their home and showered her with love. Their friends offered some suggestions on how to care for this lab in her last few months of life. The best of suggestions led to giving Annie her best life. They started by taking her on a tour of burger restaurants. She enjoyed the burgers. Before long, Annie started to show new life.

Annie has had many wonderful adventures in the last few months. Lauran and Lisa have given her a birthday party, Christmas in July, and so many other adventures. They post Annie’s adventures on Instagram. Annie’s videos have been viewed over 4 million times. Recently, Annie received so many gifts from people who follow her on social media that they took them to the shelter where Annie was found to shared them with all the other dogs.

It is amazing what love can do. When Lauran and Lisa opened their home to Annie, they gave her new opportunities, new adventures, new life. Love welcomes a stranger into our lives. Love gives time and resources to make another’s life better. Annie has been reinvigorated. It is love that has given her this opportunity to live and live life to the fullest. Love is a gift to share with the world.
