January 26, 2023

As Christians, we are called to love God with our whole heart, soul, and mind, but there are days this is a very hard concept for me. On days when nothing is going my way or when there is unnecessary violence toward others in the world, I have a hard time remembering God loves me through it all. I have a renewed sense of love and value by connecting with other Christians through various bible studies that are provided at both of our St. Luke’s campuses.

On Thursday mornings, I “fill my cup” by interacting and bonding with other moms at our Edmond campus at our weekly Mom Core gatherings. Last semester, we had a very meaningful bible study focused on the book, Mom Set Free, written by Jeannie Cunnion. It was a very realistic approach for moms who are tired of trying to be good enough but know we ARE enough in all that we do through Christ. At Mom Core, we have a wide variety of moms that are at different stages of life. I value the expertise of my peers on my daily struggles and revitalizing myself through our Heavenly Father.

Thursday afternoons, I am constantly amazed by the diversity and wisdom that is projected from our Women of Faith Bible Study that meets every week at our Downtown campus in the Mansion library. We have had a few different bible studies and each one has touched a part of my heart in a new way. In the fall of 2022, we reviewed and analyzed women in the bible through Understanding Faith, written by Carolyn Custis James. It was very enlightening to learn about all the very influential women who were present and important in Jesus’ life. I am eager and motivated for this new year of 2023 knowing, through my bible studies, I will be reminded weekly that God loves me, and I love him dearly.
