Welcome from the Unity SS class on a beautiful Spring day. Some of our classmates were still enjoying their trips.
During joys and concerns the following were lifted up: Mike and Kathy Sabin’s brother-in-law Lee who is recovering from a liver transplant, and their sister-in-law Mary who is going to have knee surgery and Rev. Poteet sister Cheri, and Kelly Poteet on the loss of her grandmother Edna.
We were delighted to have Rev. Dave Poteet bring our lesson again on the subject of Second Chances. The lesson was from Luke 7:36 where a “sinful women” had washed Jesus’ feet and dried them with her hair. Jesus was a guest at a dinner given by Simon a Pharisee. The woman was showing Jesus the honor he deserved while Simon had not fulfilled his duty as a host. Instead of acknowledging the woman’s need for God’s forgiveness Sion’s pride was focusing on having his dinner disrespected. Jesus looked at all of God’s children differently – He realized we all have sinned and are in need of His forgiveness.
The Class was pleased to have Ray, Sherre and Crystal visit with us again. We are grateful for second chances and hope to share God’s love and bring hope to the world.
