Today was a great day at our day camp. Everyone felt much more comfortable in set up and their roles and our students and leaders rocked every part that they did! Our students are stepping up in great ways to lead and serve these children. The worship and group times have been full of energy and life. The truth of God’s love is being shared through words and actions – into these kids’ lives and into each of ours. It’s not always easy to keep the kids focused, but it’s so important for these interactions and relationships that we can share God’s love! After the kids leave, we spend some time cleaning and setting up for the next day.
After we finished cleaning, we headed back into downtown Toronto again. Our first stop was above our underground parking garage, where there is a large Toronto sign in Nathan Phillips Square. We took quick pictures (it’s been really cold and with the wind, today was even colder!) We walked to a restaurant where we all ate poutine, which is a traditional Canadian dish of fries, gravy, and cheese curds. We had various additional toppings like pulled pork, chicken, and bacon too. Next we walked to the CN Tower and went up to the observation area. It was amazing to go up that high and see around Toronto – the buildings, the lakes, and more. There was also a glass floor to observe as well. After shopping in the gift shop, we went to dinner – some eating at Burrito Boyz and others at Burger Priest. We’ve had a great day and are looking forward to more good times to come in the next couple of days together.
