So many musicians have dreams about making it big. They have visions of gold records and large crowds that gather just to hear their music. It takes a lot to make it in the music industry. Any musician will tell you that you need talent, a dedication to your craft, a strong work ethic and a few good breaks along the way.
Those breaks that come along the way are often from others who have been in the music industry and offer a chance to up and comers. Corey Fox is one of those people who have helped several music groups achieve their dreams. Corey owns the Velour Live Music Club in Provo, Utah. Several groups have gotten their big break while playing in this somewhat out-of-the way club.
The band The Moth & The Flame is one such group. They have now released their second successful album and are currently playing at some of the nations biggest music festivals. The success of this band has not caused them to forget where they have come from.
Brandon Robbins, the lead singer of The Moth & The Flame has kept in touch with Corey Fox. When Brandon learned that the man who helped give his group their big break was sick and in need of a new kidney, he went for testing and learned that his was indeed a match and able to donate one of his kidneys. That is exactly what he did. Brandon donated one of his kidneys, out of gratitude, to his friend who had done so much to help his band get their big start.
The success of any one person is, in part, due to several others who have helped along the journey to success. Brandon Robbins understands that the journey he and The Moth & The Flame is currently on was set in motion by Corey Fox. His gratitude compelled him to help fulfill a need for the person who once helped him. This is what gratitude does for us. It allows us to be thankful for all that we have and all that we are and gratitude reminds us that we have the opportunity to support others in the same way that we supported.
