On August 23, St. Luke’s on Broadway brings one of Broadway’s most talked-about new shows into our worship space. Talented guest performers take on the music of Death Becomes Her, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, while Senior Pastor Dr. Bob Long looks beneath the laughs for the spiritual questions this show is quietly asking.
Fair warning: this one will make you think. And probably make you laugh. A wildly funny musical about vanity, rivalry, and the desperate pursuit of eternal youth, and what all of it might teach us about what truly gives life meaning.

About Death Becomes Her
Madeline Ashton is the most dazzling actress in the room, and she’ll be the first to tell you so. Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author who has lived in Madeline’s shadow for years until Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé and the two become lifelong frenemies. When a mysterious woman named Viola Van Horn appears with a magical potion promising eternal youth and beauty, both women take the bait.
What follows is a gleefully chaotic comedy about what happens when two people chase immortality and miss their lives entirely.
