Bible Point – Trusting God makes us brave!
Key Verse: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
When we trust in God’s power we can be strong and courageous in any situation (Acts 4:5-14). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea:
1. Share a time you had to be brave during a scary situation.
2. Ask your kids to share their own version of a time they were brave – maybe on their first day of school or when they got lost at the mall.
3. Talk about how trusting in God can make us brave even when we’re facing something that normally would be completely terrifying.
4. Then think about some things coming up that members of your family will need courage for. Pray together for courage.
PRAYER:
God, we need you to help us be brave in our lives. We know that we will be facing [insert situation] soon, and we ask for your strength and courage. In Jesus’ name, amen.
