Bible Point: God can help us all do great things
Key Verse: “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
We learned today how David, a young boy, was able to defeat Goliath, whom all the Israelite soldiers were too afraid to fight. Like David, we can do great things for God (1 Samuel 17:1-50). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea.
Talk about someone who’s doing great things for God. What is that person doing? What great things can you do for God in your own life? Do yard-work for a neighbor who can’t get out of the house? Move to a foreign country to be a missionary?
Ask your kids to think about the kinds of people God uses to do great things. Encourage your kids with the fact that God used a young boy to save the Israelites from their enemies.
Talk with your kids about the kinds of great things they can do for God.
PRAYER
God, thank You for using David to do great things and for showing us that You can use anyone who’s willing. We want to serve You and do great things, as David did. Please show us how You want to use us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
