It is part of a group of letters, from the Apostle Paul, known as the “Prison Letters.” The Apostle Paul was in prison but allowed the freedom to write and connect with the young churches he had started. I have worked in childcare since 1983, it was not what I set out to do, or even a career I thought I would want to explore. My father was a doctor and specialized in Hematology/Oncology. The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
he will bless those who fear the Lord—
small and great alike.
May the Lord cause you to flourish,
both you and your children.
May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

It is often said, “The Lord helps those who help themselves.” This popular phrase in our culture represents our acknowledgment that God is at work in the world while promoting individual responsibility and self-reliance. This common phrase does contain a nugget of truth. However, it is not found in the Bible. The Lord helps all. God’s grace and mercy are available to all people. That is why the Apostle Paul writes in the book of Titus, “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all.” (Titus 6:2)
