Good Morning from Chugiak! It is a brisk cool 47 degrees with an expected high of 60, absolutely delightful. After a delicious breakfast of pancakes and the devotion from Mona Mae entitled, “The Heart of it All” from the gospel of Mark our painting continued.
The church is large and built in the early 70’s and has three levels and truly suffered major damage from the November 30th earthquake. Previous VIM teams have patched cracks in the walls and did some prep work which enabled our team to come in and start painting. We completely finished the Sanctuary, Narthex and elevator areas on the 3rd floor today! Needless to say they are impressed with how much we are accomplishing in a short amount of time.
We ended the day with an absolute beautiful drive to Girdwood and took a mile hike on a rugged trail to a hand pulled tram which took us over the gorge and back. Our muscles used for this excursion I’m sure will be felt tomorrow! #missionsforlife
