St. Luke’s Community Market serves families and individuals in the Oklahoma City area by distributing fresh produce and other food weekly to those who are food insecure, assisting about 400 households a week.
Each Friday, volunteers help to package and distribute fresh produce directly to families and individuals in need in our community. Volunteers participate by assembling the produce bags weekly at the Downtown Campus, or you can serve as part of the distribution teams at various locations every Friday to hand out the produce. An adult must accompany all youth under 18.
We have jobs that include using equipment like pallet jacks and dollies to load and unload the food, and drivers are needed to transport food to each location. On-site, volunteers move boxes, set up tables, load cars, greet clients, help clean up, and other tasks that arise. The work is often physically demanding, and we operate the Community Market during all types of weather conditions 50 weeks a year.
