“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23

I love a beautiful sunrise. As the darkness begins to fade the sky changes to a faint yellow. The shadows diminish and what was the stillness of night begins to wake with a bright energy of a new day. Sunrise is truly a beautiful and peaceful moment of any day.

Recently, while spending the day fishing, I witnessed a beautiful sunrise. As I was driving to the lake I pulled over and stopped to take in this moment. As the sun slowly made its way above the horizon, I could feel the warmth and light bringing mercy and hope for a new day. I tried to take a photo to capture the beauty of what God was doing in that instant, but my phone camera and dirty windshield did not do the Creator’s work justice.

As I continued towards the lake, I was reminded of a song that I have loved for many years. I began to sing it in the car, and I continued singing to myself for much of my time fishing that morning. This song is “My Redeemer is Faith and True” by Steven Curtis Chapman. I am so grateful for the faithfulness and mercy of our God. The beauty of the world around us is a present and constant reminder of how good God is. It is my hope today, as a new day dawns, these words bring peace and joy to you.

“As I look back on the road I’ve traveled
I see so many times He carried me through;
And if there’s one thing that I’ve learned in my life,
My Redeemer is faithful and true.

My Redeemer is faithful and true.
Everything He has said He will do,
And every morning His mercies are new.
My Redeemer is faithful and true.”
