What do the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Christ Church in Zanzibar, and a hidden shrine in Kasuga, Japan, all have in common? They all reveal part of the history of Christendom. From the low ceiling in the Church of the Nativity that forces people to kneel down before approaching the traditional site of Jesus’ birth, to the former slave stalls connected to Christ Church, many of the highs and lows of the Church are revealed in the buildings themselves. The class will be fun and informative as it reveals how the church grew, both because of and sometimes despite the work of men and women throughout the centuries.
