As summer nears its end, our youth will experience a spiritual weekend to remember. It’s called Youth Discovery Weekend and takes place August 26-28 at St. Luke’s.
Last year was St. Luke’s first Youth Discovery Weekend, and we are so excited to have it again. We’re making some changes, but the basic focus is still the same. Discovery is a two-night retreat at the church for our middle school students. It’s a great time for them to connect and grow in their faith as they begin a new school year.
The other big focus is on our high school students. This year, they are taking on leadership roles – meeting throughout August to make decisions about the schedule and activities. They will also be training to lead our small groups of middle school students.
This year’s theme is called, “Act. Love. Walk.” It is based on Micah 6:8 – “He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
We will be incorporating opportunities for mission awareness throughout the weekend. There will also be worship, small group Bible study and discussion, and lots of fun activities!
Students can register online before August 14 to be a part of Youth Discovery Weekend. The cost is $40. >>Sign Up Here.
