It’s been an awesome week in Baton Rouge! Thursday and Friday we moved to a different home to continue work projects that Revive 225 has connected with, and we were able to help the Smith family. There was siding, framing, and insulation on the side addition of the house, inside painting, and sanding and mudding in the bathroom. There was rain in the forecast for most of those two work days, but luckily it just rained a little on Friday afternoon.
It did rain on Thursday evening so our crawfish boil was moved from a park to just staying at the church. It was a great time of fellowship for our group and the people connected with Revive 225. Most everyone really enjoyed eating the crawfish!!
We closed Friday evening with worship and communion led by Fernie Rivera, an associate pastor at FUMC-BR. Fernie attended OCU before seminary and his experience in Oklahoma City really encouraged us to continue the mission when we get home – it’s not just something we do when we are away on a trip. We had a final group time sharing God sightings for the week and sharing our daily things that made us smile or laugh.
This week was filled with many times that made us smile and laugh and we have so many great memories! We have all both experienced and shared God’s love and kindness. We’re thankful to God for an incredible week!
