Day 2 of Mission Missouri started out with foggy drizzle as we headed to Wesley United Methodist Church, where we put up chairs in their gym so the kids could play. We deep cleaned two sanctuaries at two different campus sites. We also worked on outside yard projects (raking lots of leaves).
Here’s a little highlight of today’s mission from Arden Boydstrum: “At the downtown campus some of us went to the front of the church to clean out the flower bed. A lady in a wheelchair was passing by on the street and began commenting on how sweet we all were to be doing this work. She proceeded to offer us lollipops for our work. We said, ‘No thank you’ since we were so dirty. But it was really sweet of her to do that.”
We did have one van break down but our fearless leaders were super fast to respond! It was towed and at the mechanic within the hour. We expect to get it back in the morning by 9am! Hey, what’s a youth trip without a broken van!?!
