It was an exciting day one here in the lone star state filled with lots of service and joyful memories!
We started out with some incredibly delicious tacos made by the C2K staff (where we are staying) that really hit the spot before a day of service! After breakfast we headed out to Trinity River Missions where we filled be volunteering during our time here in Dallas. Trinity River is located on the west side of Dallas in a very low income community and it’s purpose is to help student learn how to read and get tutoring for school that other wise wouldn’t be able to. Our group split up into various jobs that included filing applications for students, coloring bookmarks and games pieces for student to play with, and creating a news letter for family opportunities this summer for students and their families of Trinity River!
After volunteering at Trinity in the morning and after we scurried over to Group Dynamix for an evening of fun and joy to play games and let loose! We played glow in the dark dodgeball, bow and arrow tag, and on a ropes course for the daring! It was an amazing silly joyful time for the kids to bond and the staff was so fun and made the time incredible!
Now it’s off to bed for rest before another great day of serving and memory making!
