Today was mostly our rest and fun day! We did have half the group go out to help for a couple of hours in the morning to get further in one of our work projects at Mr. Rodney’s house.
After lunch we headed out towards New Orleans, stopping first at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours. We got on our boat and our guide shared lots of interesting stories and info about alligators, Cajun history, and more. We saw several alligators, turtles, and raccoons. We all even got to hold a small alligator!!
Then we went on to New Orleans. Our first stop was at Cafe du Monde. We took our beignets and drinks and sat at Jackson Square. It was a popular eating spot because there was lots of powdered sugar on the ground. We continued walking and went in several different shops for souvenirs. We ate dinner at Louisiana Pizza Kitchen. It was great to have Rev. Wendy Lambert join us for the day!
Tomorrow we begin our second half of the work week and we will be going to a new house. There is more rain in the forecast so we’re hoping we’ll be able to be productive in the jobs we need to do. Plus prayers for our upcoming drive home since the state has recently faced so much rain.
