Bible Point: Jesus is special.

Key Verse “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).

Jesus is special—because he is the Son of God, but He still chose to come to earth to die for our sin (Luke 2:39-52). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea:

  1. Talk to your children about what it means to you that Jesus is special.
  2. Encourage your family members to explore what “Jesus is special” means to each of them.
  3. One of the ways to get to know the “specialness” of Jesus better is simply to spend more time with Him. If your family is used to praying aloud together, perhaps at mealtimes, suggest spending time in silence together acknowledging the presence of the Savior with you. This is called contemplative prayer, and it is one way to converse with God. In this kind of prayer, it’s our turn to listen to God. Let children know the purpose of the silence but make the duration of time appropriate to their ages. You may want to start out by trying just 15 or 20 seconds of silence together.

PRAYER

Jesus, we thank You for Your amazing sacrifice for us. We want to know You more. Remind us each day to focus on You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
