Bible Point – God gives us gifts to serve Him!
Key Verse: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
We each have spiritual gifts to serve God and others (1 Corinthians 12:4-27). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea:
Think of something your child excels at and encourage your child to spend some time every day this week developing this gift and using it for good. Discuss ways he or she can use this gift for God. For example, a child who enjoys cooking could bake cookies for a friend or an older person who can’t get around very well. A child who’s good at art could make pictures with a Christian message and share them with a friend who does not yet believe in God.
PRAYER
God, while spiritual gifts are not found in boxes that are wrapped in brightly colored paper, they’re nonetheless beautiful – even priceless – gifts. Give us the wisdom to discern our spiritual gifts and the grace to use them to serve You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
