“Just a reminder
That you don’t have to
Make resolutions.
Or huge decisions.
Or big proclamations.
You can just set
Some sweet intentions
And take each day
As it comes.”
– Victoria Erickson
Taking life day by day is the way we have been running our four childcare centers for the last two years. Each hour, each day and each week can look a little different. Our lives have been changed forever! Our culture is evolving exponentially, in a great way. Our staff have grown closer over the last year, and they look for ways to help and protect each other. I see kindness shining through all of them as I walk through the centers. Our teachers will stay late for each other when staffing is short. They take time to check on each other and watch closely over the children in their rooms.
We are “Building a better world” for the children and parents in our facilities. We have been able to remain open for our parents to enable them to go to work on a daily basis. Our parents have been beyond grateful to us for staying open and navigating the pandemic to the best of our ability, with love and compassion.
When people have struggles in their lives, they look to others who will nurture and listen to them. Our team has not only done that for our families, but for each other as well.
Our mission reaches beyond the twelve hours we are open. Our management team spends many hours checking on staff members in the evening and on weekends. Whether it is to check on them or their family members who may be ill or need help in another way. We also have struggled with having enough staff when the ones we do have have become ill, or just needed a break.
In the coming months as we come out of this pandemic, I believe we have grown stronger together and created an amazing place where children can continue to learn and grow. We are “Building a Better world” for our future generations. We believe as a team that being kind is always the right thing to do!
If you see one of our workers or the children in the halls of our beautiful church, won’t you join me in saying hi and thanking them for all they do to bless the children’s lives every day.
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” – Isaiah 41:13
