“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

Lincoln Logs were first produced in 1916, and they’re one of the only toys to celebrate a 100-year anniversary.  Lincoln Logs were some of my brothers’ favorite toys until they were introduced to Lego’s.  In 1974, my family hosted a foreign exchange student, Claes Matson, from Denmark. Claes brought my brothers a box of Lego’s from Legoland of Denmark.  The word, Lego, comes from the Danish words “LEg GOdt,” meaning “play well.”  My four brothers loved the plastic building blocks and were soon “playing well” and creating.  Over the years, Lego’s have only gained popularity and in 2022, they’re still one of the most popular toys!

When my two oldest brothers were in college, they worked for a carpenter during the summers.  They learned a lot from this man who had built many houses.  These brothers started out building and creating with Lincoln Logs and Lego’s, but they progressed to building with lumber and nails. Over the years, they’ve helped with many home projects.  Some were easy fixes, while others took several trips to the hardware store.  My two youngest brothers were the most avid Lego fans.  Both now in their 50s, I have no doubt if Lego’s were within reach, they’d grab them and start building.  These 2 brothers also love carpentry, and both are handy with a hammer.  If my husband and I needed help with a house project, I know any one of my brothers would be happy to help and we’d be wise to seek their assistance.  We need only ask!

Do you have people you can ask for help?  Keeping our homes in good repair is important.  But there are other even more pressing problems for which we sometimes need assistance, things like broken relationships, illness, depression, job loss, addictions and more.  Who do you go to when you need help with your problems?

Just as my brothers are well-qualified to help with home projects, we know that God is most qualified and always willing to help us with our other problems. He only wants us to seek Him!

I’ll admit, I’m the first one to call a friend or family member when I have a problem.  Too often, I call them before praying.  How about you?  Do you have a problem?  Have you taken that problem to the One who loves you the most and wants only good for you?  What are you waiting for?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6-7
