Tyler Carach is a 9-year-old on a mission to say, “Thank you.” His goal is to say, “Thank you” to as many police officers as possible. Tyler’s mom, a former police officer herself, told him that all police officers like doughnuts. Since learning this, Tyler has been handing out doughnuts to as many police officers as possible.
This idea came to Tyler last year when he saw several officers in a local convenience store. He decided to use some of his own money to buy some food for the officers. He mom allowed the gesture of kindness and Tyler was thrilled when he saw how happy he made the officers.
Tyler is now on a mission to buy every cop in the United States a doughnut. He does chores around the house collects scrap metal with his grandfather to earn money for his mission. When he raises enough money, he dons a cape that reads, “I DONUT Need a Reason to Thank a Cop” and he gives away a doughnut just to say thank you.
Tyler understands that everyday people do tasks that make a difference in our lives. Many times, we don’t even realize how important their work is to us and our community. I hope today we can follow Tyler’s example and offer a simple gesture of gratitude to the people in our lives who make a positive difference in our personal lives and in our community.
