“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13

Cassidy Hooper was born into a loving family in Charlotte, North Carolina. She experienced trials right from the start. Cassidy was born without eyes or a nose. It was a serious physical birth defect for which the doctors had little explanation. With the obvious exception, Cassidy was a healthy little girl who was ready to take on life.

Cassidy was born blind but has always had an exceptional outlook on life. Despite her physical limitations, she has persevered, worked hard and always set high goals for herself. This past week Cassidy graduated with her Associate in Arts from Piedmont Community College. This is an exceptional accomplishment for this young woman.

Everyone who knows Cassidy knows she approaches life by the motto, “I don’t need easy, I just need possible.” With all that she has accomplished, it would seem most things are possible. With one degree earned, she is now ready to work towards her bachelors and to a position in the church where she hopes to help lead worship one day.

Life is filled with possibilities. If we set goals, focus on what is achievable and work to accomplish our goals, we can do amazing things. Cassidy Hooper is a reminder that our obstacles, the ones that so often seem insurmountable, are nothing compared to the grace that is in our life. Let us not put off our dreams, our goals, because of a hurdle. Today is the day to start working to make our dreams come to life. It may not be easy, but it is possible.
