“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” – Proverbs 11:25
There are few things in life that are more challenging than raising children. I know that there are few things that changed my life like starting life with our daughters. Children demand your attention… full-time. Raising children is the greatest blessing and yet it can also be a great source of stress.
Often, when we first start our families, it is a challenging time. Young couples are not quite financially secure. When money is tight, it often causes additional stress. Krystal and Patrick Duhaney understand the stress a lack of income causes. When they had their first child, they had very little funds. Now that they are a little older and doing better with their careers, they are working to bless new families.
Recently, the Duhaneys went to a local store. Taking with them a large amount cash, they began sneaking the money into diaper boxes. Their hope is that when a family comes to buy the needed supplies for their baby, they will also take home a blessing that will help to take away a little of the stress that comes with children. This most recent trip was an opportunity for them to distribute just over $1,000.
The weight of many of life’s trials are heavy and cause great stress. Krystal and Patrick remember the challenge of being young parents, and now their family of five wants to help others find joy beyond the weight of life’s trials. We all remember the times we have struggled in life. If we have moved beyond a particular struggle, we should not forget, but instead we should look to see how we can help others who are on the same journey. We all have the gifts and abilities to help lighten the burden of another person if we will just remember where we have come from and look behind us to see another we can help.
