There are many exciting things that happen in the Fall; the trees begin to turn and beautiful fall colors emerge, pumpkin spice returns to flavor everyone’s coffee, cool weather returns after a long summer, and football returns to the gridiron.
Football is an exciting sport filled with exciting on-field victories and heart-breaking defeats. Eric Gray is not used to defeat. In fact, his Tennessee high school football team recently set a county record for most consecutive wins, 28 to be exact. Eric Gray is a significant part of his teams amazing production. Last year Eric ran for 48 touchdowns. He was named the 2017 Gatorade State Football Player of the year in Tennessee. Eric has committed to playing football for the University of Michigan. Eric’s future looks amazingly bright.
Eric is a young man who knows that scoring touchdowns is not the most important part of life. He understands that he also has an opportunity to bless others. Eric has dedicated his senior year to raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He has committed to raising money with each touchdown he scores and his goal is to raise $30,000 dollars this year.
Eric and the Lynx, Tennessee team are well on their way to raising that money. Eric has said that, “It is exciting to know that his touchdowns mean so much more than points on the board, it means possibly saving lives.” Eric finds joy in blessing others.
Helping others brightens our spirits. Eric Gray understands this. His future is bright on and off the field. When we work to bless others, our lives are transformed. Eric has found a way to help others with his talents. What talents can you use to bless the lives of others?
