Bible Point – Obey God
Key Verse: So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. – Deuteronomy 5:32-33
God is pleased when we obey (Genesis 22:1-18). Strengthen your family’s faith learning and growth at home with this easy idea:
- Discuss a time you didn’t obey God and share how you felt during and afterward. Maybe you chose to deliberately disobey God by lying about something at work, or maybe you simply chose to ignore God when he told you to help a friend.
- Share a time you obeyed God and compare how that felt similar or different from when you disobeyed.
- After sharing these personal experiences with your kids, work together to brainstorm ways you can encourage each other to obey God in the future.
PRAYER
God, teach us to be careful to follow Your commands. Help us to stay focused on obeying You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
