Today started out by with new year fireworks at midnight all over town. After arriving at our hosts home and sleeping late, we all are having separate experiences today with our hosts family and their friends. It is a good day to rest and reflect on the past and the year ahead.

Today I launched on a journey with 4 old/new friends – Lauranne, Odetta, Bonnie, and Lori! We left OKC headed for Ulyanovsk, Russia at 10:30 a.m. We arrived at Atlanta airport and ate a bite at TGIFridays and then had a little devotion together. Lori shared how our journey made her think of Moses call to go to the Israelites.

This was my first mission trip and I was going to Houston, TX to help clean up after Hurricane Harvey’s devastation. After spending a night in Dallas, we arrived in Houston and teamed up with Samaritan’s Purse and traveled to our worksite.
