Each Sunday at St. Luke’s on Broadway, talented guest performers bring songs from beloved musicals into our worship space, while Senior Pastor Dr. Bob Long connects each story to the deeper truths of our faith. It’s a summer series unlike any other, and every week brings something new.
On August 2, we turn to Operation Mincemeat, A New Musical, the winner of the 2024 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and a four-time Tony Award nominee. It’s fast, funny, and surprisingly moving, and its themes reach far deeper than you might expect. This is one of Broadway’s most inventive new shows, and one of history’s most unlikely stories of sacrifice and purpose.

About Operation Mincemeat, A New Musical
The year is 1943. The Allies are losing the war. Desperate to change the tide, a small team of British Intelligence officers hatches one of the most audacious — and bizarre — plans in military history: planting false documents on a carefully staged corpse to deceive Nazi Germany about the Allied invasion of Europe.
What unfolds is a story of ordinary people working together for something far greater than themselves, pouring their creativity, their courage, and ultimately their lives into a mission with no guarantee of success. The plan works. And the world changes.
