Be A Part of History

A special day of celebration will take place on March 31 as we ring the Bell to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the St. Luke's Edmond Campus! We will have special worship services to celebrate our history and dream about our future at 9:15 and 11 a.m. The Bell Dedication will take place in between services at 10:30 a.m. as we ring the new six-foot Bell for the first time! There will be displays around the church that tell our story, delicious food, and every family who comes will receive a gift.

An Unexpected Opportunity

In October 2017, the carillon bells at the St. Luke's Downtown Campus were restored for the first time since their installation in 1956. During the restoration process, we learned of an unexpected opportunity to purchase a historic bell that would create another special tie between the Downtown and Edmond campuses. Made by the same bell company in Holland, the bell's decorative filigree pattern even matches the Downtown Campus bells. St. Luke's has been given the chance to purchase this very special bell at a deeply discounted price that includes delivery and installation.

Fulfilling the Dream

The bell also fulfills a dream set in motion in the early days of planning the Edmond Campus: to have an iconic piece to feature as a part of the walking trails and/or prayer garden. Bringing this bell to St. Luke's Edmond is an exciting opportunity for our Family of Faith. We envision ringing the bell to mark special life events such as baptisms, confirmation, weddings, and funerals.

The Vision

The bell will initially be installed on the west side of the Edmond Campus in the circle drive with plans to eventually move it to the south end of the property. We hope to one day expand the outdoor area to create a place where both members of the church and the community can experience the beauty of God through walking trails and/or a prayer garden. The bell will be an inspiring, historical focal point for the campus.

Thank You

The Bell was paid for by generous donations from members of this family of faith. The inscription of the names of these families and individuals is on the outside of the bell as well as a plaque that will be visible for generations to come. Thank you to all who have been a part of The Bell Project so far!
