Today I am thinking of our current president and his departure from office for a new person to step in.

I am setting aside all the negative political rhetoric that’s been spoken (or shouted) by the Democrats and the Republicans over the past couple of years.  Truly I just want to think of President Barack Obama. I am grateful for his service to our country.  There is a toll that is taken on the life of anyone who takes on the Presidential role; it is a sacrifice on them personally and it is a sacrifice made by their family as well. While there are some who would not agree with all of his political decisions and opinions, I think is important to recognize that he worked to make things better.  Of course, if you are someone who does not agree with his decisions, you might argue as to whether things are better or not.  But I see that this was a man who gave the past several years for all of us.  I personally want to express my gratitude to him and his family and I encourage everyone to do the same.  Please share and add your note of thanks.  If you can’t bring yourself to do that, then consider he following words based on the immortal words of Thumper’s father, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.”
