Youth Ministry

St. Luke's Youth Ministry is an exciting place for 6-12th graders to grow spiritually through a meaningful combination of Christian education and unforgettable fellowship. Our mission is to create memorable events and develop authentic relationships in an environment that will help youth to know their worth is in Christ and not the world.

We are all on a life journey. We never stop growing. In the youth group, we strive to build relationships to help support us in our journey. Through weekly devotionals, Sunday School, and fellowship we learn how to be in community and grow closer to Christ. Our goal is to build relationships with God, relationships amongst the students, and with others throughout the community. We provide opportunities for students to grow in their faith and to share their faith with one another through Sunday School classes, bible studies, and fellowship activities. We also provide mission opportunities to serve within our community and the world.

Sunday Evening

Every Sunday evening, the 6-12th grade students gather from 4-7 p.m. in the Youth Room (216) for a time of fellowship, recreation, and devotion. Activities range from bowling, movies, games, and mission work to hearing guests from our congregation. Snack supper is provided. Unless noted otherwise, we always begin/end events in the youth room (Room 216). View upcoming activities and sign up for our weekly email at stlukesokc.org/youth.

Sunday Morning

Sunday school classes for youth are available at the 9:40 and 10:50 hours. An additional class is offered for Juniors and Seniors at 8:30 a.m. Our lessons are derived from Scripture, focusing on how it applies to the youth culture of today.

Wednesday Night Alive

Join us upstairs in the youth room for praise and worship from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. We will be having a different speaker each week. Dinner will be served in the CLC at 5:15 if you would like to join us for dinner beforehand! The youth will participate in the Lent series Wednesday Night Alive at the Movies beginning February 29.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a significant time of study and reflection as we look for the Holy Spirit's confirmation on the ministry and mission to which God has called us. No matter when you are baptized, (as an infant, as a child, as a youth, or an adult), it is an intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming our baptismal vows. Confirmands learn about the meaning of Christian faith, the history and the teachings of The United Methodist Church, and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows we claim. Confirmation will begin on January 15, 2012. Classes will be on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm in the youth room. Please email Angie Wages at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to register. All 6th graders are encouraged to participate, as well as any older youth that have not been through the confirmation program.

Youth Snack Supper

Food is a vital part of students' lives, and we are always in need of Sunday night snack supper volunteers. If your family (or if you'd like to pair with another family) is interested in providing a light dinner for about 30 students on a Sunday at 6:30 p.m., please contact us. We provide all paper products, drinks and have plenty of cooking space.
